DAVID D’OR
BIOGRAPHY
David D’Or last name means “golden” in French, and the Israeli singer- songwriter and recording artist certainly has the Midas touch. His singular voice has a range of more than four octaves, reaching the high notes of a contra-tenor and dropping to the depths of a baritone. D’Or is a three-time winner of Israel’s Singer of the Year and Best Vocal Performance awards. In 2004, he was selected to represent Israel in Eurovision Song Contest. D’Or’s blends pop, rock, dance, folk, klezmer, Yemenite prayers, holy music, ancient chants, classical, opera and baroque arias. He has performed with numerous symphony orchestras and for world leaders including Israeli president Shimon Peres, American president Bill Clinton, Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, among others.
